About

Vietnam Market Insights is an independent reference project providing factual, neutral information about Vietnam's business landscape. We currently focus on ecommerce and the digital economy; we plan to expand into financial market data and tools over time.

Methodology

This site compiles publicly available data and summaries from government publications, industry reports, and open sources. Information is structured for reference purposes. Sources include the Ministry of Industry and Trade, State Bank of Vietnam, Vietnam E-commerce Association, and international organizations including the World Bank and IMF. All data is attributed to original sources. Content is updated quarterly to reflect available statistics.

Our Mission

"To make Vietnam's market landscape accessible, understandable, and verifiable for researchers, founders, and operators who need reliable context."

Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic economies, but finding consolidated, factual information about its market can be challenging. News articles focus on headlines. Reports behind paywalls limit access. Opinion pieces blur facts with analysis. We aim to fill this gap by providing structured, reference-based content that prioritizes accuracy and neutrality.

What We Are Not

❌ Not a News Site

We don't chase breaking news or publish daily updates. Our focus is on foundational market knowledge that changes slowly and matters consistently.

❌ Not Analysts

We don't make predictions or provide investment advice. We document what is, not what might be.

❌ Not Affiliated

We have no commercial relationships with any companies mentioned. No sponsored content. No affiliate links. No hidden agendas.

❌ Not Comprehensive

We don't cover everything. We focus on core market topics—payments, e-commerce, logistics, consumers, regulations, and platforms—at a level useful for business decision-making.

Methodology

Sources

We prioritize primary sources and reputable secondary sources:

  • Government sources: State Bank of Vietnam, Ministry of Industry and Trade, General Statistics Office, official decrees and circulars
  • Industry bodies: Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), banking associations
  • Established media: VnExpress, Vietnam News, Tuoi Tre News, Nikkei Asia
  • International organizations: World Bank, IMF, ASEAN reports
  • Verified company data: Annual reports, verified public statements

Content Structure

Every topic follows a consistent structure to ensure completeness:

  1. Overview: High-level context and key takeaways
  2. Key Characteristics: Defining features of the market segment
  3. Market Structure: How the market is organized
  4. Major Players: Key companies, organizations, and entities
  5. Why This Matters: Implications for businesses and operators
  6. Sources: Explicit listing of where information came from

Editorial Guidelines

Neutrality

We present facts without bias. When describing competing companies or technologies, we give balanced coverage. We avoid promotional language and let facts speak for themselves.

Verifiability

Every significant claim has a source. We prefer public sources that readers can verify themselves. When using proprietary reports, we note the limitation.

Currency

We date all content and update regularly. Market data becomes outdated quickly—we aim to refresh content quarterly or when significant changes occur.

Clarity

We write for busy professionals. Content is organized for scanning, with clear headings, bullet points, and concise explanations of technical terms.

Correction Policy

Despite our best efforts, errors can occur. When they do, we correct them promptly and transparently:

  • Factual errors are corrected within 48 hours of discovery
  • Significant corrections are noted in the changelog
  • Readers can report errors via the contact form below or by opening an issue on our GitHub repository
  • We welcome corrections with supporting evidence

Contact & Feedback

We welcome feedback, corrections, and suggestions. While we can't respond to every message, we read all of them and use them to improve the site.
